Cleaning
Rules & Getting Started

We arrived in our class towards the end of October. After a brief explanation of the dedication this class would require and of our expectations, each person filled out a sheet regarding their strengths, team & position preference, and how much time we were willing to put into the NPPD/OPPD power drive competition.

At that time, we filled out syllabi, permission forms and other essentials before we were allowed to become members of the team.  Next we reviewed the power drive rules as a class. This helped give us a better understanding of the event we would be participating in and helped ensure that our cars would be up to code.

After that, we cleaned up the areas we would be working in and the places we would store the cars. This not only made our work space safe and efficient, but also allowed us to become accustomed to those areas and our team members as well.

After we finishing the cleaning and moving the cars to their respected places, the team did a bit a brainstorming over what each car would need done and basic long-term goals for the team to meet by the end of this class.

Finally towards the end of the month, we took off the previous metal shell from the “Black Cat” (named the “green car” at the time) and started to brainstorm ideas for the replacement shell.
